Mark Bird, Forester
Mark graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Forestry as an honors graduate with a minor in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University January of 2008. Mark has been working with Advanced Ecology while attending college before deciding to join our team as a full-time employee.

Mark decided to pursue a degree in forestry after watching his father and oldest brother in the forestry field throughout the years. Mark is currently working with Bird Forestry, the Forestry Division of Advanced Ecology, Ltd. He is also working on his Masters in Business Administration at Stephen F. Austin State University and will graduate in December of 2010.

During Mark’s years at SFA he worked for the Forest Resource Institute collecting information for carbon sequestration research and installing field research plots. He also worked as a research technician for the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture collecting information, installing and monitoring research plots relating to the use of different herbicide applications for biomass production.

Mark has been a member of the Texas Forestry Association and Society of American Foresters since 2007. He is also looking forward to becoming a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters in the future.

Mark married his wife, Crystal, in April of 2008 and they reside in Nacogdoches, Texas while he is continuing his education. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors avidly chasing wildlife with his dad, brothers, and friends.
